Woke up a little tired this morning after the long drive yesterday. Also had trouble with the CPAP so that could be some of it too, since I felt good when I arrived yesterday afternoon.

Just a quick note. Rain forecast for this afternoon and next couple of days. If I weren’t so close to home I’d probably just hang tight until it was good driving weather again. But I’m just about a hundred mile...

Thunderstorm last night. Real West Texas thunderbumper. Fortunately it moved through in a hurry and only rained for about an hour instead of all night like the forecast.

Woke up this morning really tired and realized I’m dealing with the stamina issue again.

Yesterday I had to dump my holding tanks. I’ve got what’s called a macerator. It’s like a garbage disposal that attaches to the outlet and p...

He’s done it again. I walked up to the little cafe for supper last night, met the most interesting woman and we ate supper together.  Traveling solo in her min-Class A with her poodle she was fascinating--full of life and laughter--and so was her story.

Her husband died in 2017. He had always dreamed of taking an RV tour of the US, but “life happened” and they never made it. Now she’s taking tha...

It’s been a good day. On a scale of 1-10 I’m about a 9 and expect to be even better tomorrow.

The Keto Flu seems to have run its course. Almost all the symptoms have gone except some mild fatigue. Hard to tell if it’s left over from the Flu or just the usual fatigue I feel most of the time.

At any rate, tomorrow--God willing--I’m headed back toward The Hermitage Ranch. My first stop will be Fort Stockton RV...

Well, the decision has been made.

I woke up still tired and still experiencing “brain fog” so I decided to cancel the rest of the Utah trip.

What this required will probably be rich fodder for future meditations, but right now I’m just too foggy to try to write a meditation. But you can probably imagine the list of hurdles I had to jump to make the decision. I’ll be dealing with the disappointment and emoti...

When I started to write my spiritual blog I realized that I had to “tell it like it was” or there was really no use writing. Sugar coating things would be dishonest. First, to myself. Then to my readers.

So here’s the reality of my trip so far.

I woke up this morning completely discombobulated. I’ve experienced being less mentally alert than I would like to be, but this was far from that. In addition, I w...

Another hard day on the road. Thank goodness it was a short one--125 miles- about 3 hours at 45 mph with stops.. Doesn’t sound like much on paper, but there was a horrendous head wind with lots of gusts. The speed limit is 80 mph, so with me driving 60-65 the passing big rigs were throwing up huge bow waves. And I-10 ain’t what it used to be. Trucks and other heavy traffic have worn ruts in the lane in...

Was a long drive today. Also a good learning day. It was 250 miles, which with all the stops, took just under six hours. That was about 2 hours too long, even with the stops.

I knew the drive to Fort Stockton was going to be a long one, so I'd planned to stay for two days. However, I recovered quickly this evening, so I changed up my stops. I realized my next two days(Van Horn and Las Cruces)  were just about two-...

Off on my trip to Utah!

So far it’s been very eventful. I loaded up over the past several day, so I just had a few things for Friday before I left. What I hadn’t counted on was that those “few things” meant a number of trips up and down the RV steps. This trip is going to be good for leg exercises.

Pulled out about 11:00 and headed west. Stopped for fuel a few miles from home. This look like it’s going...

  WHERE AM I NOW ?
     ABOUT ME

An 80 year old widower after 53 years of a wonderful marriage, I'm going to be off 'yonderin' " My adventures will be pretty much solo or with some friends who love to travel as much as I do. The original  plan was to revisit places Andrea and I loved, and to visit some places we just never got to see. But now circumstances have changed and I'm just waiting to experience the next exciting adventure the Lord takes me on.
